The newly discovered fragments of the lost work Scythica by the third-century historian Dexippus of Athens, the so-called Scythica Vindobonensia alias Dexippus Vindobonensis, which survived in a Greek palimpsest kept in the Austrian National Library in Vienna, have great impact on the study of this field. The contributions explore the Vienna fragments in their historical and historiographical contexts, from the Roman to the Byzantine Era, and the history of the invasions themselves.<br/><br/>Listed by It is the first monograph that fully treats the question of the fate of the History in the Hellenistic world.
The book collects and analyses for the first time all the fragmentary evidence on Thucydides’ readership from the Classical and the Hellenistic period. It includes a thorough and up-to-date synoptic introduction and extensive bibliography, setting each chapter in the context of broader scholarship from XIXth century onwards.. With this book, readers shall receive a survey of manifold aspects of Thucydides in particular, and of historical writing in the Hellenistic age in general.<br/><br/>Listed by <a href="https://unglue.it/work/522861/">Unglue.it</a>.</div></Text></TextContent><SupportingResource><ResourceContentType>01</ResourceContentType><ContentAudience>00</ContentAudience><ResourceMode>03</ResourceMode><ResourceVersion><ResourceForm>01</ResourceForm><ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceVersionFeatureType>01</ResourceVersionFeatureType><FeatureValue>D502</FeatureValue></ResourceVersionFeature><ResourceLink>https://tieulgnu.s3.amazonaws.com/cache/4d/45/4d45a43713dabded39ac94f6af1cc405.jpg</ResourceLink></ResourceVersion></SupportingResource></CollateralDetail><PublishingDetail><Publisher><PublishingRole>01</PublishingRole><PublisherName>Verlag der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften</PublisherName></Publisher><PublishingStatus>00</PublishingStatus><PublishingDate><PublishingDateRole>01</PublishingDateRole><Date>2021</Date></PublishingDate></PublishingDetail><ProductSupply><Market><Territory><RegionsIncluded>WORLD</RegionsIncluded></Territory></Market><SupplyDetail><Supplier><SupplierRole>11</SupplierRole><SupplierName>Unglue.it</SupplierName><Website><WebsiteRole>29</WebsiteRole><WebsiteDescription textformat="06">pdf file download</WebsiteDescription><WebsiteLink>https://unglue.it/download_ebook/365911/</WebsiteLink></Website></Supplier><ProductAvailability>20</ProductAvailability><Price><PriceType>01</PriceType><PriceAmount>0.00</PriceAmount><CurrencyCode>USD</CurrencyCode></Price></SupplyDetail></ProductSupply></Product></ONIXMessage>
